In order to gain your technical skills competency to add to your foundation guiding course, we offer preparation training courses and accredited assessment for various technical skills.

Abseil Guide certification is a popular adventure guide qualification course, serving purpose for those who offer abseiling as a stand-alone activity or experience, but also as the foundation for further training as a rock climbing guide or canyoneering (kloofing) guide.

You will love the skills and our awesome way of presenting it. All our guide training courses are designed to equip you with a variety of skills and to lead you to completing successful certification.

Training Course Duration
Our Abseil Guide training course runs over 5 full days. Public courses (open enrollment) usually starts on a Monday and ends on the following Friday, meaning you only have one week to take off work.

We do occasionally run part-time courses, please enquire with us.

We can schedule this course for groups and companies to suit your dates.

Topics & Content
The course is a mixture of theory lectures and practical in-field training.
Topics include: equipment; group management; anchoring; various set-up systems; rescues; self-rescue; client care; and much more.....

Assessment
You can be assessed for various levels of competency in abseil guiding.
This includes:
Abseil Guide - level 1 - up to 60m abseils
Abseil Guide - level 2 - 60 to 150m abseils
Abseil Guide - extreme abseils over 150m

Assessment includes written exams, and a practical in-field assessment.
Assessment can take 2 to 3 days depending on chosen scope.
